Bought at a farm dispersal sale. This is called a copper. This is a term for a boiling pot, often used for hot washing clothes and textiles. This oversized beast of a pot would have been for commercial use. The internal enamelling is what sets this apart from the many that are out there.

At first glance it looks like copper verdigris but it isnt, its been glazed with this incredible icy green enamel, still in great condition with a wonderful aged look and crazing in areas but this enamelling has protected it from the elements and the harsh work that it must have gone through. If I could keep it I would but its just too big for my bungalow. This would make the most incredible log bin for a big inglenook in a pub, hotel or a big country house.

You wont find another of this size and originality. There is even a foundry stamp on the side - a Davids star over 30. The measurements are as follows. You can move it on your own but it would take 2, preferably 3 to lift it. As you can see it is rounded at the base.

It sits fine but will obviously rock a bit if moved. You could source or make a stand for this without too much bother. The other thing this could be used for is a water feature in the garden. The ultimate ice bucket for parties and functions.

Needs a wipe and if you have the inclination, the iron on the outside would come up and look great after using a grinder with a wire brush attachment. This item would need to be collected from Beckley in East Sussex. Im not expecting this to hang around long. Somebody will fall in love with it very quickly.

An absolute stand out statement piece and a real talking point. Also, it would hold a serious amount of split logs, which would look great. This is collection only or organise your own courier. I may be able to deliver within a 30 mile radius at a pre-agreed cost.
