Large antique copper stock pot with tap. This impressive pan has the cross and orb mark of prestigious maker Benham and Froud stamped on the base. There are dovetail seams along one side and to the base. The pan is tin lined. This is darker grey and tarnished in places. The bronze handles are each firmly fixed with four rivets. In very good used antique condition with surface marks and wear associated with this.
This would have had a drop handled lid originally, but this has been lost at some point. This is taken into consideration with the price.
The tap will be removed for posting. Dimensions - 40cm dia x 41cm deep / Width incl. Handles 55cm / Rim 2mm / Weight 18.6kg. A rare find from a renowned copper maker, this would make an impressive addition to any kitchen copper collection. It would also look great in the garden as a planter or alongside the fireplace for logs etc.
