Rare Victorian Jelly Mould: "The Brunswick Star" Benham & Froud Design Registered: September 15 1864. Issued to commemorate the marriage of Edward Prince of Wales to Princess Alexandra of Denmark in 1863, this is one of the most famous and highly collectable of the Victorian Benham & Froud copper jelly moulds. This particular example in in excellent overall condition. It had been lighly cleaned and polished but it would undoubtedly display better with a highe level of thorough cleaning.
The tinning to the interior is intact but it has the usual age and use-related darkening and discolouration. Guaranteed antique and not a modern reproduction. Height: 17cm / 6.75.
Diameter: 13.5cm / 5.25 approximately. It is an impressive and stunning display piece which would admirably complement any collection of Victorian copper jelly moulds.
