Judging from the serial number, one assumes this to be a fairly early mould by these well-known makers. In good overall clean and polished condition bu it would certainly benefit from a more thorough cleaning before being put on display. It bears the Benham & Froud Orb & Sceptre mark to one side of the rectilinear stand above the Serial number "183". On the opposite side of the stand there is an impressed four-part journeyman's mark. There are no holes or splits -, apart from a very small on the foot or end-plate at one side -and no sign of any repairs. It is in sound and original condition and displayswell. The tinned interior has had some flaking and is heavily discoloured. It is made from a very good gauge of copper but has some distortions - mainly to the sides which function as the stand wholst the contents are setting. Guaranteed antique and not a modern reproduction. The item "Very Rare Victorian Copper Jelly or Roulade Mould Benham & Froud No. 183" is in sale since Monday, November 16, 2020.
