Victorian Cast Iron and Copper Antique Street Lamp Post. This was probably originally a Gas Light, the copper top has glass panels and it sits easily and securely on the cast iron post. The Lamp post has been carefully dug out of the ground so that the bottom section is still fully intact and can be reset in concrete below ground.
The copper top has been modified for Electricity, and requires rewiring and possibly a new bulb bayonet for cosmetic looks. The post has been stripped back to cast iron and repainted with two coats of black hammerite, whilst the. Lamp has been stripped back to copper but will require some more TLC and polishing or painting back to match the post if rquired. And a small piece of glass or perspex if you want to completely seal underneath. There is a single (one sided) horizontal ladder post that you would expect to find on an antique gas lamp.
