  THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE 1 GALLON ANTIQUE COPPER HAYSTACK MEASURE or HARVEST MEASURE A large gallon jug, traditionaly used to carry ale to the labourers working in the English fields at harvest time. Late 19th Century, but please make up your own mind about this The jug measures approx 9 1/2 inches (245mm) tall, by 10 1/2 inches (270mm) diameter across the base. It has all the usual dings and dents, and repairs you would expect to find on a copper vessel which has had a working past, but no splits or holes. There is a lead verification seal on the rim.    Here I have a Lovely Large Antique Vintage Copper Brass Banded hand hammered Log coal bin tub or large planter Jardiniere. Rolled top edge and riveted base. Condition is good just age used related wear. Few marks knocks dings ect. One handle fixing is missing a few pins the other 1 pin but this does not effect lifting the bin it's just something that may effect its use over time. Top edge is 37cm across.
