   C1850 Victorian Brass & Copper Pocket Watch Hanger in Form of a Woodpecker. Stunning moulding and form of a Woodpecker on a branch. The problem with pocket watches (150/170 years ago or more) was that most of them were encased, a'Hunter' or a Half Hunter, in order to protect the delicate glass and fragile mechanisms within. So the Victorians, being an inventive lot, developed various stands, on which they could hang their pocket watch at night. Good quality British made, a. Ntique Temple & Crook Copper Frying Pan or stove top cover?? It has initials EB on the bottom. Made of 2mm copper and weights 1.6 kg overall. It measures about 28.5 cm in diameter.
