Antique 19th century Dutch copper & brass banded doofpot or ash pot in decent condition with small dents & staining but all age related & not major at all. Sits on 3 brass bun feet. Size is 7 inch high including the lid knop & 5.5 inch wide across the base. Signed on the base as shown in the photos. What you see in the photos is exactly what you get. Antique Very Attractive Dutch Brass & Copper Ornate Embossed DoofPot. It would be Great for a Log /Coal Bucket or A NIce Planter. It was used for Ash / Hot Embers Bucket used in Holland in the Early 1900's called a " Doofpot". It is 38cms at its highest point, 31cms widest part of bottom, & stands on3small 2cms brass bun feet Two of which need attention due to age & wear. Antique Dutch Copper & Brass Doofpot Covered Bucket Log Bin Swing Handle 3 Feet

A antique Dutch Copper Doofpot with Brass cover and swing handle, mounted on decorative brass brackets. It is raised on three ball feet and has a push fit domed cover with two steps rising to a Urn shaped finial handle. It measures 15 3/4" or 40 cm high x 10" or 25.5 cm wide across its base. It would have been used for storing hot coals or ashes, which its tight fitting cover would extinguish by cutting off the oxygen supply. It dates the Victorian period and has a beautiful shine to its copper and brass and looks great on a fireplace. It would make a great log bin or coal bucket ...
