Lovely large Georgian/Victorian bellied copper kettle with C scroll handle. This very fine seamed copper kettle has castellated seam around circumference of base and vertically behind handle. The copper is quite thin compared to some Georgian and early Victorian kettles. There are areas of lacquer and some water spotting around handle. The kettle would be much improved with further cleaning. The handle looks in original attached condition. It does have a wobble on both ends but seems secure. There is a gap which could be repaired. Antique 19th century hammered copper fish kettle. Hand crafted using a dovetail joint around the base and up near one handle. The brass handles are firmly fixed with steel rivets and the pan is tin lined. The lid has been cut and shaped from one sheet of copper. Dimensions - 50cm L x 19cm W x 8cm D internally / 60cm L x 13cm H incl. Handles / Weight 3.1kg. This antique copper kettle measures 8.5" wide (including the spout) x 4.5" x 8 tall (including the handle), and shows some marks, wear and patina throughout (please see photos). The handle leads over to one side slightly, possibly intentionally to allow for the lid to be placed in and out with greater ease. It is stamped on both sides with VR and a crown. Perfect for any collection, or for display.
