This is an unusual kettle probably used to either heat water on a range or fire and/or transport hot water around the home, to say a bath or sink. Unusually this kettle has both the lid and the spout cover. The latter will require a small amount of work to re-secure it in place. It has a pie-crust base and restrained decoration with a cross on the back (the part of the congregation see), and lip to the base of the bible holder.
