This is more decorative than useful as the inner, although clean. Has a rough edge around the centre piece. The centre has a very heavy stone (originally for storing heat to keep the water hot). Offered from a local NJ estate is a nice big fancy. COPPER SAMOVAR or WATER URN. This model heats via the central tube. But unfortunately the spout does not dispense, the lever is frozen so this is for DISPLAY ONLY unless you repair it. Wonderful swirled rib lid and base with matching knobs. The strap legs from urn to base are Egyptian Revival motifs that start in Fans or Feathers and end in CLAWED FEET. The Handles are big fancy scroll holders with bone or wood inserts. Large Copper Hot Water Kettle Excellent Condition late 19thC. This is an unusual kettle probably used to either heat water on a range or fire and/or transport hot water around the home, to say a bath or sink. Unusually this kettle has both the lid and the spout cover. The latter will require a small amount of work to re-secure it in place. Both of these parts are usually missing so it is a hug bonus to have a complete kettle. There is obviously some wear and tear but it is in really good condition for an item around 125/150 years old.
